Project Description

Vantage were asked by creative technology experts Kerve to build a giant Rubik’s Cube made from Layher scaffold, to promote Huawei’s latest phone, the Mate Pro 20, which boasts 24-megapixel pictures and clever artificial intelligence features.   The cube was unveiled at the Southbank and wowed the public who were invited to complete the giant cube, with help from the new Pro 20 phone.  Due to the phone’s advanced neural processing unit (NPU), contestants were given hints on how to complete the cube and those who completed the cube quickest with fewest hints, were lucky enough to walk away with a Mate Pro 20 handset. 

Weeks before the giant cube was unveiled, Vantage, Kerve and hardware specialists ITR were busy at Vantage’s Old Wolverton yard, putting all the hardware and software together and refining all the finishing touches, in readiness for the cube’s big day on the 24 October.

The unveiling went smoothly, the cube and Huawei’s new phone attracted much public attention, with help from Georgia Toffolo (Toff) from Made in Chelsea and Good Morning, who really got behind the competition and helped the public engage with the new phone’s AI features.
